"It is with a delightful heart that I bring warmest greetings to the indefatigable Nigeria youths, and indeed Nigerians of good conscience who came out in unprecedented large
number during the February 25th, Presidential Election to make a loud statement that will forever change the entrenched abnormally in Nigeria political history.
That singular effort by Nigerians to troop out against all odds, across tribal, religious and party lines to vote for Obi/Datti presidential ticket has been firmly registered in Nigeria as a day the youths and other patriotic Nigerians used their voting powers to tell the world that a new Nigeria is possible. It is a confirmation that the youths and Nigerians of good conscience thirst and long for a credible candidate, a candidate who reflects a Nigeria where Justice, equity, fairness and balance reign. They saw that in the joint presidential candidature of Obi/Datti of Labour Party, hence they trooped out to their booths to vote their conscience. Despite the effort by machinery of evil to subvert the will of the people, the Association of Igbo Town Unions wants to assure the youths, and all those who voted for Obi/Datti presidential ticket that they are the real winners.
The 2023 presidential election where Obi/Datti ticket on the platform of fairly popular Labour Party dismantled the deep rooted obnoxious political structures, clearly shows that the future belongs to the youths and that they have the power to create a country of their dream. It is striking to note that the determined Nigeria Youths refused to be induced by pecuniary consideration, rather they were self-induced by their conscience and genuine desire to change Nigeria for the present and future generation. They are the heroes and heroines of this presidential election. They have neutralized corruption and its destructive influence thereby sending deadly blows to the worst virus tormenting Nigeria politics.
I sincerely advise them to remain resolute, steadfast and intact as an indivisible unit, no section of the youths should allow themselves to be used against their fellow youths. A youth is a youth, whether you are a carpenter, unemployed, a trader, police, army, navy, lawyer etc, all of you are adversely affected by the bad political leadership of Nigeria which you desire to change. Be encouraged and know that your desire for a relatively corrupt free Nigeria leadership which transparency and open governance will trickle down to the bottom will certainly be achieved. Your wish to have a country of strong institutions and not strong men, a country where the rich and the poor will coexist peacefully without molestation or intimidation which you see in Obi/Datti, will surely happen. You should therefore not relent in your quest for a prosperous Nigeria. You, the Nigerian Youths and other Nigerians, have spoken and the world heard you loud and clear. By the grace of God victory will not elude us.
Once again, i commend and congratulate Nigerians, particularly the irrepressible Nigeria Youths for making strong statement with their. votes.
Thank you.
Chief Emeka Diwe,
National President ASITU".
