Project Future Nigeria (PROFUN) has said that the statement credited to Igbo Town Unions on Peter Obi means that Obi won't fail Nigerians. Association of Igbo Town Unions led by Chief Emeka Diwe had recently taken responsibility of the outcomes of Obi's admistration if elected as the next President of Nigeria.

The Director General of ProFuN, Chief Anthony Obineme through a telephone chat with our correspondent said that by vouching for Peter Obi's actions and inactions in his administration means that Obi is a highly responsible man with good leadership qualities. He noted that it is the first time in the history of Nigeria where a credible group such as Igbo Town Unions will take responsibility of the actions of a politician.

"This is the first of it's kind in the history of our nation, where such a credible group would come out openly to take responsibility of the actions of a politician. If Peter Obi is not a good leader, Igbo Town Unions I know wouldn't have taken such risk. Igbo Town Union is the most credible grassroots oriented group in Igbo land and they are not under the influence of any state governor or politician. Do you know what it means to say that you take responsibility of a politician's actions? No one can take such risk if he is not sure of the person in question. Who among the other candidates can get such recommendation?" Obineme added.


Chief Emeka Diwe, the President General of Association of Igbo Town Unions on Arise Television few days after ASITU's confirmation of all endorsements made on Obi, assured Nigerians that the Labour Party candidate whom NIGERIANS have chosen to support will surpass their expectations in developing the country. He said that the reason behind the group's confirmation and affirmation of all endorsements on Peter Obi is because Obi has been tested in Anambra state as a governor for 8 years and that his achievements is second to none. Diwe maintained that Nigerians now know the best man for job and will surely vote Obi on February 25, 2023. Chief Emeka Diwe asked a surprising question to Nigerians. "Assuming you have a company, going by the antecedents of the 3 major contenders, whom will you hand over your company to manage?".

There have been war of words between Alhaji Atiku Abubarka of PDP and Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu of APC, accusing each other of corruption, drug peddling, not being qualified to rule Nigeria among others. Surprisingly, amidst these accusations and counter accusations, none has accused Mr Peter Obi of any crime. 

Nigerians will go to the polls on Saturday, February 25, 2023 to elect the next President of Nigeria, who will take over from President Mohammed Buhari on may 29, 2023.
