BENDE GROUP ADOPTS NRM's IJOMAH IN ABIA, ANALYST REACTS
As the 2023 Abia state Governorship election draws near, more groups in Abia state have continued to adopt the governorship candidate of National Rescue Movement (NRM), Chief Kalu Ijomah Ukeh.
A group known as IGBO EKENE GLOBAL DEVELOPMENT UNION with a membership of over five thousand (5,000) in Abia state recently adopted Kalu Ijomah as the Abia state 2023 Governorship Candidate. The group adopted Ijomah of NRM (paati mmanú añú) during the innuguration of new officers of her Bende chapter.
Speaking to the large crowd during the event, the President General of the group, Ambassador Moses U. Onyegbula described Kalu Ijomah as a good man with experience and the most qualified for the Abia state number one seat. He noted that the innuguration of the new executive officers of Bende chapter was a special one as it was also a day for the official adoption of Kalu Ijomah Ukeh of National Rescue Movement.
Onyegbula tasked all the group's 17 local government chapters in Abia state to support Kalu Ijomah and ensure victory for NRM at all levels. "Kalu Ijomah is a good man and the best for this job. Abia state as of today needs a man like Ijomah to rescue it. We need a man with intellectual capacity, a fearless and honest man to deliver Abia and that man is KALU IJOMAH. I therefore charge all our state and 17 local government executive officers present here today to take this message home to the grassroots. Tell our people that Kalu Ijomah is our candidate in Abia 2023 governorship election. Let us give him and his party NRM the maximum support that they need", he concluded.
Reacting to the adoption of Abia State National Rescue Movement (NRM) governorship candidate, Chief Kalu Ijomah, Hon. J. I. Ochonma - NRM Isialangwa South House of Assembly Candidate who represented Kalu Ijomah at the ceremony said that the adoption of Ijomah by many groups, shows credibility and acceptance of his candidature. "Chief Kalu Ijomah and NRM are happy with your support. What you have done here today, including other groups who are endorsing Ijomah's candidature shows credibility and acceptance. Kalu Ijomah will not fail you the people and residents of Abia state. Please continue to support us until victory is achieved".
Kalu Ijomah Ukeh of NRM has become a household name since October 2022. Many have attributed his popularity to the fact that he is from Ohafia, Bende, Abia North where Abia stakeholders have zoned 2023 governorship seat to. Others say that it is the similarities between Peter Obi and Ijomah in terms of intellectual capacity, technical know-how and honesty.
The last school of thought believes that Kalu Ijomah's emerging popularity is based on the analysis made by a political analyst on the current political situation in Abia state.

"THE REALITY OF ABIA GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATES AND POLITICAL PARTIES IN 2023
An analysis of Abia 2023 governorship election, what is on ground and what to expect.
PDP
The failure of PDP to provide good governance in Abia & Ikpeazu's quest to become a Political godfather is against PDP. How can an Ngwa man hand over to an Ngwa man in 2023. This is wrong. Have you noticed that PDP members in Abia are scattered in other Parties? Yes. They are in all parties now. Ikpeazu who enjoyed the massive support of Ndi Ngwa in 2015 is now on his own. With the exit of Enyinnaya Abaraibe, PDP lost a lot.
*APC*
APC in Abia state has A1 in party crisis, since inception. It is either Ikechi Emenike is being cheated or is playing the spoiler as alleged. Court orders and counter court orders are the order of the day in Abia APC , no one is sure who is the real candidate. Eventually APC may not have a candidate in 2023.
*APGA*
With the recent court ruling, APGA is most likely to present NO Governorship Candidate in 2023 guber election. Gregory Ibe, APGA Guber candidate has been sacked by an Abuja high court and a rerun was ordered within 14 days. It is either he appeals the case which will end at the supreme court or a rerun is conducted. Whichever one, the crisis is on and may continue to increase. APGA members who are already in 2 or 3 factions are facing serious challenges now and APGA may never recover from this crisis even after 2023 election.
*Labor Party*
When I talk of Labor Party here, remember that Abians know the difference between Peter Obi and Alex Oti. Alex Oti's political career had problem in 2015 when he lost to Okezie Ikpeazu his brother & fellow Ngwa man from a neighboring local government. Does Oti expect his brother Ikpeazu to hand over to him? We know that this cannot fly in an ideal society and especially in Abia state where there is zoning. As far as Abia is concerned, Labor Party's participation in 2023 general election in the state, will only make sense at the Presidential level NOT AT STATE level.
*YPP*
YPP Guber candidate, though a youth is swimming against the tide. Any Ngwa man aspiring to take over from Okezie Ikpeazu, an Ngwa man in 2023 after Ngwa has just spent 8 years on the seat is not being realistic. YPP is partially made of aggrieved members of PDP and APGA members who refused to leave with Alex Oti. Perhaps YPP governorship candidate is creating more popularity for the future.
*NRM*
National Rescue Movement (NRM) paati nmanù anū. This is the only fresh party void of crisis right now.
The Governorship Candidate of NRM is Kalu Ijomah Ukeh, a fresh young man who has not been into politics before now. A successful Industrialist and Scientist, who hails from OHAFIA, BENDE, ABIA NORTH.
KALU IJOMAH REPRESENTS
EQUITY, JUSTICE AND FAIR PLAY;
According to the zoning formula as agreed and practiced by Abia stakeholders since 1999 in the state, Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu started from Abia North and ruled Abia from 1999 to 2007 and handed over to Sen. Theodore Ahamefula Orji who took over as the representative of Abia Central and piloted the affairs of Abia state from 2007 to 2015. Finally, Okezie took over the mantle of leadership from 2015 and is expected to hand over in 2023. Ikpeazu, the incumbent Governor is representing Abia South according to the zoning arrengment. The zoning having gone round, is expected to go back to Abia North".
