ABIA 2023: WIDOW, 95, SHED TEARS FOR ABIA STATE
Reactions have continued to trail in over the heartfelt prayer said unbehalf of Ijomah Kalu by a ninety five year old woman and wife of late Justice Kalu.
Mrs Kalu had on Friday October 21, 2022 in her residence in Amaekpu Ohafia, Abia state prayed for Kalu Ijomah after being endorsed by Amaekpu and Akanu Ohafia communies. Amaekpu and Akanu Ohafia had endorsed Kalu Ijomah Ukeh as Governor and Afaemula Udonsi Nkata as Ohafia South House of Assembly Candidate respectively during different Town Hall meetings. Akanu Ohafia is the home town of Chief Ijomah.
In the prayer, the 95 year old woman had called on God to grant Ijomah victory in 2023 Abia state Governorship race, reminding God that it was the turn of Abia North and OHAFIA in particular to produce the next governor of Abia state.
Meanwhile the endorsement of Kalu Ijomah and Afaemula Nkata was widely attended by Amaekpu and Akanu communities as people trooped out in their large numbers support of Ijomah's candidature. Mr Nnaoke Anya speaking unbehalf of the communities said that every Ohafia son and daughter will support Kalu Ijomah to Victory, noting that the time for Abians to support Ohafia in producing the next governor of the state has come.
In his speech, the National Rescue Movement (NRM) governorship candidate, Kalu Ijomah thanked the people of Amaekpu and Akanu Ohafia for the gesture and promised to bring development to the ancient town if elected into office. " I wish to thank you all for this gesture, I am happy that you have taken it upon yourselves to support your son. As you can see, Ohafia has been abandoned by the government of Abia state from 1999 till date. No state government presence in Ohafia, no good roads and the hospital built in Ohafia by the federal government in the 70's has been abandoned by Abia state government. All projects being executed in this town are handled by age grades and private individuals. We are being treated as if we are not part of Abia state. If elected as the Governor of Abia state, I will develop the entire state and Ohafia will not be left out".
"I want you to reach out to all Ohafia sons and daughters to continue to support this project geared towards rescuing Abia from bad governance", he concluded.
